Strong Women, Strong Girls Program
Strong Women, Strong Girls Program
Funded by the Department of Communities through the Aboriginal Family Safety Grant Program
The Strong Women, Strong Girls Program supports girls and women who have witnessed or experienced family and domestic violence (FDV). It provides a safe space to process experiences, recognise strengths, and begin healing.
The program is guided by local Elders, women, and girls, and incorporates healing activities on country. Designed for cultural safety, it enables participants to share, learn, and grow together. Activities focus on increasing resilience, confidence, self-esteem, and physical, emotional, and cultural wellbeing.
The program is delivered in two parts:
Strong Girls
Strong Women
Delivery occurs both in schools and through referrals from Mara Pirni Healing Place.
Funding Partner: Western Australia Department of Communities.
What to Expect:
A program focused on healing, self-empowerment and support of women who are witnessing, experiencing or at risk of family domestic violence.
Being on country during monthly Women’s Bush Trips you will participate in fun activities to help you reconnect with yourself and learn self-empowerment to help throughout this journey.
We learn from our elders so we will invite them to join us and talk about how you can be a strong woman. Various service providers will also join so they can explain the different ways they can support you on your journey.
